WHEN THE RAVENS RUN THE BALL: Ray Rice is a name everybody recognizes since he's Baltimore's lead behind and has good ability to cocktail a large play. But keep an eye out for Bernard Pierce. He's Baltimore's change-of-pace curtain and that change is a bigger, stronger chronicle of Rice with a ability to mangle a prolonged run as he did in a playoff win over Indianapolis when he had a 43-yard run. Pierce is averaging 6.3 yards per lift in a playoffs — improved than possibly Rice or a 49ers' Frank Gore. The 49ers were among a league's chosen defenses in a unchanging season, and one reason is they stop a run.
