Queensland reels at huge cost of floods, NSW on alert

As floodwaters rose near Rockhampton and warnings of flash flooding were issued
in New South Wales, Queensland was yesterday counting the soaring cost of this
week's disaster.
Vast areas of the state were inundated, forcing thousands of evacuations,
destroying homes, isolating communities and devastating farms still struggling
to recover from the 2011 floods.
