No rules for childcare cakes: Plibersek

THE sovereign supervision is perplexing to palliate fears that new hygiene discipline will meant children can’t blow out candles on birthday cakes during childcare centres.


The latest National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines, patrician Staying Healthy, aim to forestall a widespread of illness.

But Health Minister Tanya Plibersek, who helped launch a discipline this week, rejects concerns they go too far.

“They are not manners and we’re not policing them,” she told ABC Radio in Melbourne on Wednesday.

“These are suggestions for childcare workers if they wish to revoke a widespread of infections in childcare centres.

“A lot of it is only good common sense.”
