'Lincoln' leads Oscar nominations

Heavy favorites were snubbed, eccentric visions celebrated, and both a youngest and oldest possibilities for Best Actress in Oscar story were named as contenders when a nominees for a 85th annual Academy Awards were announced this morning.

Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” as expected, picked adult a many nominations, with a 12 nods including Best Picture, Director, Actor (Daniel Day-Lewis), Supporting Actor (Tommy Lee Jones), Supporting Actress (Sally Field), and Adapted Screenplay (Tony Kushner). But another heavily-lauded, if some-more argumentative film, Kathryn Bigelow’s Osama bin Laden-hunt play “Zero Dark Thirty,” was nominated for usually 5 — including Best Picture and for Jessica Chastain’s heading purpose — while a filmmaker herself was snubbed
