If your genome is public, so are you, researchers find

Scouring information accessible to anyone with an Internet connection, a group of genetic sleuths deduced a names of dozens of presumably unknown people who had their DNA analyzed for systematic and medical research.

The snooping feat, that took advantage of origin websites that let people review their DNA to hunt for relatives, was in full correspondence with sovereign remoteness regulations. Experts pronounced it underscored a sheer existence about genetic remoteness in a age of amicable media: Don’t count on it.

“Nobody can guarantee privacy,” pronounced Mildred Cho, who heads adult Stanford University’s Center for Integration of Research on Genetics and Ethics, and wasn’t concerned with a study.
