Ethnic tensions erupt as Mali troops hunt down suspected Islamists

Simmering racial tensions boiled over in Mali on Tuesday as a army wanted down suspected Islamist fighters and residents took punish on shops belonging to a Tuareg and Arab minorities.

Reports from a Saharan city of Timbuktu pronounced dozens of residents had pounded skill owned by Tuareg and Arab traders whom they suspected of collaborating with a rebels. The al-Qaida-allied fighters evacuated a city final week as French and Malian army sealed in.
