Quentin Tarantino‘s shining and heartless punish western is a extravagantly sparkling lapse to form: a stirring journey in genre and impression climaxing in a weird and nightmarish unfolding in a worker camp in 1858. The film is managed with Tarantino’s glorious irritation and audacity, with a whiplash of cruelty and strut of scorn. It is well acted by Christoph Waltz, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio and, particularly, Samuel L Jackson, who creates a masterpiece with his chilling impression Stephen, a grey, bending servant-elder to DiCaprio’s accursed slave-owner Calvin Candie.
