Microsoft Sets $499 Price for Surface Tablet

Microsoft Corp. is announcing prices for a first-ever homegrown computing device due out this month, environment a starting cost that follows a lead of Apple Inc.’s iPad.

The program association says a slightest costly of a new Surface tablets will be labelled during $499. That indication does not come with a cover that doubles as a keyboard and has featured prominently in Microsoft’s selling of a device.
