CAIRO (Reuters) – Lakhdar Brahimi, a U.N.-Arab League go-between on Syria, pronounced on Monday he would make his initial revisit to Damascus given holding a post in a few days and hoped to accommodate President Bashar al-Assad.
Brahimi, who transposed Kofi Annan as general go-between on Syria this month, told reporters during a Cairo-based Arab League that his assignment was a “very formidable goal though it was not my right to exclude to do what we can to try to assistance a Syrian people.”
