NHL and NHLPA exchange offers; deadline looms

With a start of stay in danger, a Bruins took advantage of a NHL's stretched waiver period. On Wednesday, they placed Garnet Exelby, Christian Hanson, Jamie Tardif, and Trent Whitfield on waivers. Assuming a players clear, they will be reserved to Providence before to a CBA's expiration. Providence opens stay Sept. 28.
