Australia’s bid for a chair on a United Nations Security Council will go “right down to a wire”, Prime Minister Julia Gillard says.

But she says Australia can move a singular viewpoint to a universe physique that a European rivals cannot.

Ms Gillard overwhelmed down in New York on Monday forward of a four-day tactful revisit that will embody her initial residence to a UN General Assembly.

She will pull Australia’s bid for a two-year chair on a UN Security Council and reason shared discussions with a series of universe leaders.

In October, a General Assembly will opinion to fill 5 Security Council membership seats that are due for renovation for a 2013-14 term.
