Remember that election we just had, the one with the binders full of women and horses and bayonets and things we didn't build? Are you ready to live it all over again? Well, a full account of it is about to be published in the fall of 2013.

Penguin announced yesterday that it would publish Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's "Double Down: Game Change 2012," a sequel of sorts to Halperin and Heilemann's bestseller "Game Change," which recounted the 2008 contest.

In a statement to the press, Ann Godoff, head of The Penguin Press, said "'Double Down' will, of course, break news; but, more importantly, it will create the lasting story of the 2012 race for the presidency."

Given that the two authors are seasoned insiders who were able to get aides to John McCain, Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton (and, to a lesser extent, then-Sen. Barack Obama) to reveal plenty of juicy gossip, we hope that the latest "Game Change" answers some of the lingering questions about 2012 silly season: did Stuart Stevens run the Romney campaign aground?  What was Obama thinking during that disastrous first debate? And where, exactly, is that most feminine binder?

But do expect the new book to generate controversy: 2010's "Game Change" was criticized for its lack of specific sourcing, while Sarah Palin also attacked the book.

Not that the authors or publisher cared much: "Game Change," of course was adapted into a hugely successful mini-series by HBO, which garnered five Emmys. A similar fate awaits "Double Down: Game Change 2012," with the rights being bought by HBO again. While Julianne Moore and Ed Harris were perfect choices for Palin and McCain, the moviegoing world will await the decision as to who will don Mitt's salt-and-pepper mane — and, most importantly, is there any man in Hollywood fit enough to play Paul Ryan?

Here's looking at you, Andrew Garfield.
