FDA panel opposes pure hydrocodone painkiller

Experts voted opposite Zohydro for assuage to serious ongoing pain.

5:59PM EST Dec 7. 2012 – WASHINGTON (AP) — Government health experts overwhelmingly voted opposite a stronger chronicle of hydrocodone on Friday, doubt a need for a new form of one of many widely abused medication painkillers.

The Food and Drug Administration’s row of pain specialists voted 11-2 with one abstention opposite Zohydro for assuage to serious ongoing pain. The drug was grown as a long-acting pain reliever by San Diego-based Zogenix Inc.

The FDA is not compulsory to follow a group’s recommendation, yet it mostly does so.
